Laphroaig Cairdeas port&wine cask

Càirdeas is Gaelic for ‘friendship’. And friendship is exactly why former distillery manager John Campbell started the annual Càirdeas limited releases back in 2008 – exclusively for Friends of Laphroaig®. The 2020 Port & Wine edition carries on this tradition with a multi-cask aging process.​ ​ While some of our single malt is matured in our classic ex-Bourbon casks, another batch is aged in second-fill Ruby Port barriques. Finally, the two are combined in red wine casks to complete their journey as a wine finished whisky. This rounds out our famously rugged flavours of peat smoke and iodine with hints of dark chocolate, honey and pink peppercorn. ​ ​ Sip our 52% vol Laphroaig® Càirdeas Port & Wine neat or add in a few drops of water to discover even more layered flavours.
